How come a teacher at University level keeps saying wrong withóut hearing it himself?

Today we got some info on the mitochondria and out teacher has a 100% hitrate of saying "mitrochondria". Noticed the R? ... mitRochondria... and the man's spent years researching the small thingies?!?!
